Red velvet
cake is a cake with either a dark
red, bright red or red-brown color. It's traditionally prepared as a layer cake
topped with cream cheese or cooked roux icing. The reddish color is achieved by
adding red food coloring or beetroot. Originally red velvet cake is from United
States. Common ingredients include buttermilk, butter, flour, sugar, vanilla,
eggs and cocoa for the cake. The amount of cocoa used varies in different
recipes. For frosting, cream cheese and buttercream are most commonly used.
Yesterday, I made red velvet cup cake as a sample to a potential customer who plan to open
her own café soon….wish me luck!
